Though the course is an online one, studied at a distance, you won't be isolated. There will be a lot of collaboration with each other and communication with the teacher.
Educational collaboration is meant as students' cognitive activity in a virtual classroom (in the "Discussion" space) and in small groups (while preparing group projects)
Teaching presence is realized via answering student's questions, leading discussions, commenting on small group projects and final projects.
Small group project is a kind of research devoted to some specific aspect of British life and based on analytic work with information: search, selection, critical assessment and processing. Both Internet resources and printed books can be used. The result of the research work should be finalized as an informative, clear-cut, logically-structured presentation in PowerPoint or Prezi uploaded on "Small Group Portfolio" page. The presentation should contain a text as well as pictures/videos. The deadline for submitting small group projects is the 29th of March.
Your Final Projectis your personal research in one of the suggested areas (see "Suggested Topics for Students' Projects" in the menu), also based upon work with information. It should be presented as an essay/small research, well-structured, segmented into subtitled sections and having relevant illustrations; at the end there should be a list of references. The deadline for the submission via "Final Project" page is May, 10
